What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is delivering audio content to iPods and other portable media players on demand, so that it can be listened to at the user's convenience. The main benefit of podcasting is that listeners can sync content to their media player and take it with them to listen whenever they want to. Because podcasts are typically saved in Mp3 format, they can also be listened to on nearly any computer.

Tom joined Dave and I for the first segment of the podcast, and then had to take off for work, so we finished up a few hours later with Jimmy Southard and Alan Prince, who are working together to bring a great day of music to Rogersville next Saturday. The End of Summer Rock Bash is one of the best line-ups of heavy entertainment this area has produced , and we look forward to seeing what happens this year, and in the years to come. Alan Gamble joined us on BuzzCutz this week and brought years of talent and experience behind a drum kit, on the road, and onstage to the table. Alan played his first gig in 1961, and shows no signs of slowing down - nor would we want him to. He is still as solid as the day he started, and is constantly in high demand for bands, gigs, and recording projects. Alan is currently playing with the JimJams, Bag a’Cats, and Clattering Trees, a recording project with Kevin O’Donnell and Dave Sieg. Clattering Trees enlisted the aid of several good local musicians, including my wife, Vanessa Bentley, and Brandon Story, who you will hear singing on their second song. So sit back and enjoy the podcast and the music, which also includes a last goodbye.

Leah Jobe, who has turned Halo into one of Johnson City’s finest nightspots, joined us for this week’s show, and we all had a great time talking music, movies, food, and anything else that came up. We recorded some of it, and you can listen to that part. For some reason, my microphone did some weird strangeness, and I sound like a radio personality from 1937, but you can hear what I’m saying (To the horror of many listeners, I’m sure.). The P.I.T.S. are a two-man band from Kingsport that are going on ten years of playing music together, and Chris and Luke are just passing the ripe age of 23. Those years together have helped them develop their sound, and helped them develop a friendship that was very evident as they appeared in the studio this week for the show. While Tom is not a big fan of leaving the bass out of the band, he seemed to enjoy the music, and we all had a fine conversation, and if you feel like you might be interested in hearing it, I highly suggest you do so.

We are now outdoors with the podcast! We are amongst the people, out in the streets, and burning up. Man is it hot out there. Since it was hot, we had cool guests for the first of our outdoor excursions. The boys from Wolf Creek stopped in and gave us a fine interview, drank a beer or two, and had a blast. Ed, Jim, Kevin, and Jason have been playing great music for years, and now they are doing it together (With Robbie Stevens, who was unable to join us.), and doing it very well. Robby Spencer brought his latest adventure to our offices in Kingsport, and was a very nice guest to have for our last indoor podcast for a while. Robby is a cult figure in our area, and for many reasons. An accomplished and experienced musician, he is also the host of his own very popular television show, and a frequent guest at The Pickin’ Porch, as well as other regional bluegrass forums. It was a real treat for us to have him with us in the studio, and his visit elicited another first - our first “televised celebrity” visit (As well as our first “live” text request - from Tom’s lovely wife). Dave and Mia Richards were the guests on BuzzCutz this week, doubling the total number of female guests in the past two shows. We are setting records at BuzzCutz. It was great to have the two of them in the studio, as they have made great music for quite some time now, and have branched out across this country to form quite a musical network. Web-savvy and talented, their band Gretchen has done very well promoting themselves and their music, and we wish them all the best with their upcoming CD, which they are producing themselves.
